For those of you that have been with WorldWideretro.com since 1996 you see some pretty obvious changes here! The site's design and structure had been based on the same Content Management System (CMS) for the last five years. Although we kept it updated with latest security and code releases we simply began to outgrow its capabilities. We are now operating on the latest PHP and MySQL releases. All code is updated and compliant and the site should run much smoother and faster than you remember. However, the restructuring has changed many things that you may have become used to over the years. Active WWR members may want to do some exploring and will definitely need to change a few things.
1. Your Member Avatar may not be showing up. This is because of the way files are now stored in WWR. All avatar images are still being hosted. You will need to Login, visit The R.A.N.T. Boards, go to the User Control Panel, click Profile, then Edit avatar. Click the Display Gallery button to pick your icon from one of the categories in the drop down menue. Member Uploaded avatars are located in the Members_Archive category. Just click on your image then scroll all the way down and hit Submit. 2. While you are there please take the time to update your profile. Your birthday and your MySpace page URL are just a couple of the new features. 3. Update all of your old Bookmarks/Favorites. EVERYTHING will have a new link so if you have saved direct links to The R.A.N.T. Boards or the Free Retro Graphics Gallery or anything else for that matter, they will need to be updated. As always we encourage Member contributions. Please submit usefull articles, event postings, reviews, and links and we will get them integrated into WWR ASAP! If you have any problems, suggestions, questions, or simply can't find something, just post a message in The R.A.N.T. Boards. We'll get ya handled quickly.
